It is made from lapsi (Nepali hog plum), a native wild fruit with a naturally tart and sour flavor.
Coating/Blending: The lapsi pulp or dried pieces are heavily coated in sparkling sugar crystals (chini means sugar in Nepali).
Spices: It is mixed with salt, black salt, cumin, chili, and sometimes a hint of hing (asafoetida) to create an addictive sweet, sour, and tangy punch
